Analytical Laboratory & Advisory Overview
The Soil and Water Testing Laboratory of SSRI was established in 1990 for the balanced application of fertilizers and judicious utilization of irrigation water.
These analytical services are provided completely free of cost to the 25,000+ registered sugarcane growers of Shakarganj. The advisory facility helps farmers accurately assess and correct the fertility levels of their soil and evaluate the chemical fitness status of tubewell and canal irrigation water.
Key Benefits for Farmers
- Balanced Fertigation: Precise macro and micro-nutrient recommendations tailored to specific farm soil profiles.
- Water Fitness Evaluation: Testing Electrical Conductivity (EC), Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), and Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) to prevent soil salinity.
- Cost Reduction: Eliminates excessive, unnecessary chemical fertilizer usage, directly increasing net farm profitability.
- Yield Enhancement: Improves crop nutrient absorption efficiency and root health.
